Scribe Leaf is a free platform for reading and publishing short stories, essays, and poetry. Reading is open to everyone; publishing requires a free account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You retain full ownership and copyright of anything you publish. By publishing, you grant Scribe Leaf a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your work on the platform so other readers can access it.
Content that isn't your own original writing (or that you don't otherwise have the right to publish); content that sexualizes minors; content that harasses or incites violence against a person or group; and content that violates any applicable law.
Authors are required to self-declare an audience rating (General, Teen, Adult) and whether a piece contains strong language. Misrepresenting a rating is a violation of these terms and may result in the piece being removed.
Authors are required to self-declare the level of AI involvement in each piece they publish: None (fully human-written), AI-assisted (AI was used for brainstorming, editing, or feedback, but the writing itself is the author's own), or AI-generated (AI produced some or all of the actual text). This declaration is shown alongside the piece. Misrepresenting the level of AI involvement is a violation of these terms and may result in the piece being removed.
Readers can report content. Reported content is reviewed and may be removed at Scribe Leaf's discretion. Story owners can remove or hide comments on their own pieces, and can block a specific commenter from that piece.
You can close your account at any time by contacting us. Scribe Leaf may also suspend or remove accounts that repeatedly violate these terms.
Scribe Leaf is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the platform running reliably and to moderate content fairly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access or that all content will meet every reader's expectations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scribe Leaf is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
